James Richie began his illustrious career in credit union world as a Member Service Representative when he graduated from UC Davis with a Genetics degree but was uninterested in pursuing that career path. Within months, he was promoted to Financial Services Specialist where he earned accolades as the top producing representative. When a new Community Relations Officer position was developed, James was the natural fit to lead local the goodwill efforts of Yolo FCU. In understanding that a credit union serves both its internal and external communities, he concurrently developed a week-long intensive new hire training program. This turned into the new Training Manager position, which evolved into the Member Experience Manager role.
James was the Member Experience Manger for two years, during which Yolo FCU both deployed its first full member experience program and centralized staff recruiting, onboarding, and training. During that time, James led a 20% growth in NPS, and 15% increase in total experience scores. Likewise, he streamlined staff recruiting and took on full employee life cycle management. In September 2018, James simultaneously assumed the role of Interim Branch Manager in Davis, indefinitely.
In April 2019 a new position of Digital Payments Manager was created and offered to James. Not yet immersed in the digital payments landscape, James is keen on learning as much as he can in his new role to better help the members of Yolo FCU maximize the benefits and protection of their payment methods.
