Another Crash the gac is complete...
I'm calling attention to something very important, that is, Crash the GAC 2020. Specifically, I want to share a bit about the power of networking and vulnerability to build a life-long career in credit unions. Here’s a highlight of our time with the 2020 Crasher Fam:
We met the Saturday before GAC started for a full day of team building. We dove into it right away leading with a session on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion where we covered the topic of codeswitching and covering. We asked Crashers to open-up and be vulnerable, and gosh did they deliver. This session set the stage for the rest of the week. From there we workshopped on building personal brands, using innovation to make a business case, as well as practiced some tactical networking. Once GAC kicked off, Crashers were ready to mix, mingle, learn, and share their stories with conference attendees at GAC. And we all know, GAC is not complete without mentioning the always EPIC Thunderpunch! Thanks to Savvymoney, the CrasherFam was able to show all the GAC conference attendees an awesome time.
What is more evident than ever is that Crashing provides more than professional development. Crashing provides personal development as well. Take a look at what some of the Crashers from 2020 have shared about their experience -
“We all left with a why, we probably all left with different why’s, but we left with one. When you get home and the crash starts to happen, don’t forget the why. When you are lost in the what, the how, and the who…don’t forget the why. The why is where it all started and if you can build on that, you can do anything.”
“What sticks with me the most is how much emphasis was placed on the person, not just the professional, and not only after the sessions ended for the night. Talks were dedicated to helping us find that we’re more than where we work or how long we’ve worked, but how we work and why we work.”
“I never knew that crashing the GAC would "crash" my emotions by hearing my fellow crashers express their experiences of crashing and catapult my passion for credit union advocacy! I am still taking it all in and I now have a deeper understanding of the impact credit unions have on its members and community.”
Now enjoy some of our favorite moments from Crash the GAC 2020!
